Just A Reminder:

You're supposed to change your mascara every 3-6 months because probably by then, bacteria will be growing on it. You should change your mascara, as well, immediately after you have just got over an infection such as pink-eye. It will prevent your mascara from becoming too gloppy. If it starts to smell or becomes discoloured throw it out immediately because it could be contaminated! You don't have to annually change your mascara tube every 3-6 months, but whenever you discover that the brush has dried or changed shape. If you don't leave your brush out, and screw the lid tight on the tube, then I doubt that you must change your tube regularly. Just as soon as you see changes in your mascara, go out and buy a new tube!

New Hand In Hand With Old

Something particularly hot right now is vintage accessories. Something as simple as a rusty-coloured metal ring or necklace is the icing on a great outfit that just needs that extra oomph. Anyone can effortlessly pull of this look if done correctly. Don't make your outfit too busy, try to be as simple as possible. What looks really great is if you have a modern, simple dress (maybe with a sweater in this weather) with a long, vintage necklace and perhaps a ring. Surprisingly, modern and old can go very well together, and usually when they do the end result is fabulous!

Time, Time, Time....Where Did It Go?

After school, homework or work, nobody feels up to going to the gym and just feels like crumpling into bed. The weekends are relaxing time, and time for assignments, projects and cleaning up around the house (and catching up with those lost hours of sleep). Healthy food - as everyone knows - is something that should be eaten as much as possible, but in some of our schedules making healthy, nutritious meals and snacks would take too long. Fast food=more time. Secret's Fusion Shaping Camisole is simply a must-have, especially since the holidays are fast approaching! Though it's a bit difficult to get on, the shirt definitely slims you out, removing rolls on your stomach or from your bra. The low neck-line and simple straps doesn't draw attention to this tummy-tucking contraption. It also trims your hips, resulting in some more defined curves. The camisole is really lightweight and comfortable, perfect for parties!

Article of the Day

The article of clothing that I really fell in love head over heals with today would have to be military jackets. They give almost any outfit that bit of edge. Personally, my favourite look with a military jacket is either a black-based, floral print-corset dress (goes best with a plain, black jacket as pictured on the far left) or ripped, faded jeans for some extra edginess. As well, these jackets have a tendency to highlight slimmer waists, possibly highlighting ones good features. These jackets have been floating around for a while, but especially now in this fall weather, it's the perfect time to be seen sporting one.

Another Time Saving Tip

Do you ever realize that even after you apply mascara and curl your lashes, after about 20 seconds they just flatten back out? Well, personally, that happens to me ALL the time. Or rather, happened to me. I have a plain, metal curler. After curling my lashes, I grab a lighter or a candle and heat up the top of the curler. After it's just hot enough, I push up my lashes with the hot tip (being careful not to touch my skin with it). I hold it there for about 10-20 seconds, and then BAM! My lashes are voluminous and will hold all day. Just another fast and simple little technique that might just save you some cash and a whole bunch of time!

So Little Time, So Much To Do....

One of my favourite time savers is dry shampoo. I know, I was skeptical at first, too.  But if you find the right brand, then no more ponytails for you when you forget to wash you hair! I use Batiste original, and it works like a charm! I occasionally forget to wash my hair, or am too busy to bother. With just some Batiste, I'm good to go! If you don't want to buy some dry shampoo, baby powder works just as well. You can use an old make-up brush to spread it around your roots. The powder will suck up excess oils, giving you a fresh, out of shower look and feel with half the time and effort. Make sure not to use too much, though, because then when all the oils are gone, little extra bits of powder are left over, making it appear as if you have dandruff.
I don't want to give you all my quick and easy tips all at once, so keep you eyes peeled for some more!

A Knee-High High

This fall some new boots are kicking their way in. Knee-highs have been in style for a while now, but never this steamy. These boots are a smoldering statement, and go with almost any outfit. They can go with a dresses, jeans or skirts. And a bonus-they give the illusion of super hot, long legs! Black boots are always a safe choice, but don't be afraid to step outside the box with some flattering browns or soft greys. Boots, this season, aren't very hard to find. Everywhere I look I see different knee-highs, and probably any shoe store-if they are clever enough to-would make a killing by having some boots in stock this fall.
Boots don't have to be plain, either. You can do them up with buckles (as shown in the picture on the right), chains or even sparkles if you're daring enough. Adding this edge is sure to give you that extra UMPH in your outfits, and will give you that attention that all of us could use once in a while.
